Hi, my name is Laura Amortegui. I’m from Colombia and I’m sitting here in my PC, writing this letter with one purpose: to tell you how much I thank you for letting me know you.
Your music and the way you do it- the invention, production, even the results- have influenced me. I know you know how it feels to take refuge in the music in the hardest moments and celebrating the best moments with it; well then, that is what happens to me with you, guys. I’m so grateful that day when I head for the first time The Pretender, because since then, everything began: So much energy, so much power in the moment of expressing something. I always loved your so funny and a little expected videos in one song-In fact, that was one of the reasons why I become interested in listening more and more of you-.
I was too child, when all of that happened, I was 12 when i knew you and i fell in love. Sadly, not even in the radio or television I listened to you, until I got Internet and since then, after discovering more of Foo Fighters, I understand everything: You guys are awesome.
To Dave: Recently, with Soundcity, I comprehend a little bit more of how the industry of music is, and I love even more that industry. You taught me not to give up, to use what I have for my benefit, even if what I have doesn’t work-according to others-, to understand how the simpler things are the most important in the life (family, happiness, welfare).
To the whole band: sincerely, I’d like in this moment to have the chance to see you here in Bogotá (Colombia) and being in the first place with the person I love the most in this world-and who gave me my first FF and Nirvana album-. Also I wish, even if is just for a moment, to have you in front of me with that person and tell you the same things which are written right here and more things I want to tell you.
With no more to say, I say good bye with a lot of thanks to you for giving to this world something that is always necessary and today is needed: Good and real music.
Hope to see you soon in Colombia.
Laura Andrea Amortegui.

Hi David,
It's Kerry Clarke here (Essex bird),
I'm hoping you get this letter as I didn't really get a chance to tell you what you and every scrap of work you do makes my life worth while.
First I need to say thank you for agreeing to meet us in NYC global fest, I know how busy you are and the fact Gabby and you guys and Jordyn and your mum made us so welcome was way beyond what any fan could imagine!
As you know I've been a fan of nirvana and foos forever and because of a pretty crap time with bad choices in life I'd never got to see you guys live (except for reading when you played with nirvana) , so when I was told I'm on borrowed time I booked my ticket for reading 2012 and made it my mission to see you live before I go, and you as always did not disappoint !
However due to still getting over chemo I could only breath in the atmosphere and listen and sing like I was alone in a field cause doing the rail was impossible ! ( I may have defied the odds if cancer but a reading crowd is a different story)
But I did it I had seen my fucking Heros for real!

Fast forward to September when Foo Fam from around the world and sound city movie unknown to me got the money together for me to come see you at global fest! Shit I'd never even left the country before I'd struggled to see you once and here I was going to see you again and in the USA!!!
I'd gone from being told I am dieing to this! Roller coaster or what!
And then the news we were to come back and meet you guys well I was blown away!!!!! Then when you asked Luci and I to come back after your set well .....
All if you were so lovely even more than you can know and I want to say thank you
Thank you for that night thank you for your work over the years, thank you for remembering me at your london sound city premier thank you for giving me hope i may be around to hear your next album thank you for all your hard work thank you for making us laugh dance sing play an instrument , giving me the drive to keep going thank you for bringing the most wonderful people who are your fans together (and I can honestly say this as a fact your fans around the world are awesome)

I don't know if ill ever get to see you guys again but what ever time I have I can tell you this ..... You have made it fucking rock x

Everlong Kerry Ann xxxx

Dear Dave,
I have a friend out here in boring as Idaho who is going to propose to his girlfriend. Here is where it gets interesting.....My nameless friend(nameless for the time being) had a dream a week ago where him and his girlfriend were at a park where they first hooked up together at and hes about to propose to her when out of no where you come around the corner with an acoustic guitar singing The Morning Benders cover song, "Fools Rush In". This is a very special song to my friend and his girlfriend. We will do whatever we have to to make this possible. If you dont do this then I will have to fill in for you and I will more than likley ruin the moment because I have a shitty singing voice.

Dear Dave Grohl,
My name is Owen and I'm 10 years old. When I was in preschool I listened to Nirvana on the way to school so I became a drummer. I have been doing a program called School of Rock for two years. School of Rock is where you do shows at places. I also just started being a vocalist too. I have already done five shows. Also I really like the Foo Fighters. My favorite song is these days. I taught myself how to play drums for these days.
Sincerely,
Owen from Minnesota

Dear Mr Grohl,

I brush my teeth in the morning to your music.

I've been to two of your gigs in Ireland with the Foo Fighters but unfortunately I've never been given the chance to meet you and consequently I've fallen out with many concert stewards as a result of this.

I've had a big red Foo Fighters flag for a long time now that's that's been with me to both gigs and which is now with me in my University dorm room. I'd love to send it to you to sign if you gave me the chance.

Keep her lit you talented talented man,
Niall

Hello, Mr. Grohl,
I am 13 years old, and you are an inspiration for me. You are the reason I've always been into drumming and guitar. Without your influence, I don't know what I'd be doing other than visual arts! I am a big fan, since my father introduced me to your music when "In Your Honor" was the album he saw in a CD/ record store in VA back in 2011. When "Rope" came out, I first watched the video, I was like "I love the music, but what kinda name is 'Foo Figters'?"
I've tried learning a lot of the songs from the "Wasting Light" album, yet I don't have drums nor the guitar skills to know chords. One thing I do have is musical talent for playing by ear, so I do what sounds right! My parents can't really afford a drum kit right now, but you and Mr. Taylor Hawkins are amazing, and your entire band are a great influence to today's youth.
Keep on working! We all LOVE IT.

Hey Dave,
My fiance and I fucking love you and your band. He has been a fan of yours forever and he has turned me onto your music, for which I am forever grateful. PLEASE come and play at our wedding in November in Australia. And have a few drinks with us as well :) We would be forever greatful.
Everlong,
Tenille and Robert
