Dear Alex Turner From The Arctic Monkeys,

I am a really massive fan of your musical output, but that is not why I write to you today.

I am writing on behalf of a friend of mine, a Miss Eleanor Slade, who is an even bigger fan than I am. She loves your music so much that sometimes she is a little bit sick when she is listening to it.

Unfortunately she suffers from a rare disorder that means she finds it a struggle to walk, and thus she often misses out on seeing you guys perform live. She had tickets to see your show at Earls Court recently, but sadly had to cancel at the last minute because she couldn’t walk down the stairs to leave her house.

As Christmas is coming up – a particularly difficult season for walking due to ice and other hazards – I was wondering if you could please come to her house with your Arctic Monkey friends and perform a one-off special concert on her balcony to cheer her up? It’s not a very big balcony, but you could just about squeeze on.

I know you are busy people, so it doesn’t have to be a really long concert, just 30 minutes or something would be good.

If you consider this too much to ask, then you could send her a recorded Christmas message. Maybe even tickets to one of your shows. Or some official Arctic Monkeys merchandise. An erotic signed photo? And if none of that is feasible due to your hectic schedule, you could just send her some positive energy – this is cheap and easily shipped from overseas as it does not require Royal Mail or any other delivery company to courier it. It just floats from country to country on good vibrational waves.

Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear back soon. This will really make her Christmas one to remember! Unless you ignore this letter, in which case you will ruin it completely.

Yours extremely sincerely,

Jamie Roberts.

PS. She is also from Yorkshire.

Alex,

My name is Alex too, only I'm a 17 year old girl living in Perth, Australia. I attend an all girls Catholic school much of which I try to escape... which is where you fit in. I've been listening to your music since I was 8. Living in the small and sleepy town of Perth every concert you have had here has been 18+ which has devastated me each time over and over again, especially when I was a little girl I always thought maybe you'd realise I'm sitting in my room angry on the night of your concerts! (silly of me, I know). I then decided if I can't go to your concerts I will wait - 5 hours last year at the airport just to meet you but you never showed. I wasn't angry, I just realised how much of a cheeky bugger you and Miles are for decoying!

No... I'm not in a band, and no, I have no music to show you or anything like that but all I can say is that you got me through my high school years every day... both The Arctic Monkeys and The Last Shadow Puppets. Each hour of every day I count down until I'm 18 so I can finally see you live. You were the artist that introduced me into the world of true music and all I can say is thank you.

Thank you for being there for me night in and night out.

On numerous occasions though so far, I have been rejected with fake ID's and the idea of a 'lucky chance' of being let through... I became determined enough to jump fences or find my way in but nothing worked, rocking up to school covered in bruises and scratches, people asking me if I've been in a fight, it's just my way of trying to see you perform live! (That, they'll never understand!)

Every single fucking day I have to hear my mum say "Your day will come, don't worry Alex you'll see them live soon"
I thought that with Oasis, then next thing I know they've split!
Just my luck!

I'm not here to send you some sad story, guilt tripping you into replying to me. I just want you to notice that next year, if you ever do come back to Perth and you are aware of this letter, you will see me front line at the concert, completely determined to get bashed and pushed about just to listen to your music.

Yours truly from the other Alex

Hey Darling,
Sarah here from Australia.
You really are the most wonderful person, thank you so much for being there for me, as cliché as that sounds I've been supporting you from the start.
On I side note over the past few years, your music has been a big part of my life in every way, it has basically pulled me out of the biggest shit storm as well as being there during the most happiest times of my life.
I waited 6 hours out the front before your show in Adelaide, Australia and was right at the front the whole night. I was left bruised from the barrier and bleeding from people stepping on me but it was all worth it and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I know this is going out on a whim but I really hope this gets to you. It would mean the world to hear back, 0468 690 335, you really have no idea the impact you have on me.
Always a pleasure Alex.
Sarah Parkinson.

Dear Alex.
I'm 11.. From Britain. I've been into your music ever since I was about 5 when my sister, Bridie, listened to them all the time :L You probably get this alot.. but I love you. You're my idol. You and The Arctic Monkeys and The Last shadow puppets etc. I wish I could express my love for your music and Matt Helder's drumming. Bridie came to see you a few years back and she told me she LOVED it! I was envious and she took loads of pictures and my Brother in-law came to see you at Glasto this year. I hope everything is well in your family and if you write back to me I would probably cry with happiness as I do when I hear your music.
I love you lots and lots like sugar tots.
Mo Acraman, Britain.

P.S. I love you (*u*)
