Dear Anthony Kiedis

You’re music and life experiences have helped me, not only creatively but also helped me get and stay sober, at least for the time being. My parents were addicts and I started smoking weed at taking psychedelics with my dad at 13 and graduated to shooting cocaine and heroin with older kids at 16. I was already listening to your music by then but when I was 18 my dad gave me a copy of Scar Tissue. I read it over 20 times since then. I wasn’t ready to get clean yet but a seed was planted. It really seemed like the program helped you and I wondered if it could help me. I was a big fan of 90s music and I’m a musician myself. I thought that I needed heroin to be creative but have since learned that is not that case. Anyway, when I got sick and tired of being sick and tired, and of living under an underpass in Tempe AZ at 22 years old I got up and went to the hospital, eventually a rehab. I wouldn’t have been inspired to do that if it wasn’t for you. I’m 26 now and even though I relapsed during COVID my run didn’t last that long, I got back up and am now in a sober living.
Thank you so much and I hope you guys come back to perform in AZ again soon!

Love and respect,
Chris Lawrence
