My husband Paul Evans is a lifelong fan. He works at the local hospital and in January 2021 contracted COVID-19. Although he was very ill, he did not require ventilation, so I , his wife Ruth, who is a nurse , nursed him at home for 12. days , he was only able to leave our very small spare room to use the toilet. It was a LONG, DARK 12 days in there for him, with scorching fevers, whole body aches , and sheer exhaustion. I would personally of gone stare crazy in there for so long, but he was strong, and played all him placebo songs . His best friend Pete bought him Brian’s Book , to get him through the dark days , and it really did . He was particularly happy when the book mentioned a gig you did in the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth, my husband always tells the story of how he and his best friend waited for hours at the back doors waiting for a glimpse of Brian. My husband Paul was meant to ask for his autograph but got all tongue tied and awestruck , that’s the words didn’t come out !. He has made a long but good recovery now , and still remains in awe of Placebo , and in particular Mr Brian Molko . Thankyou Brian for helping my husband get through probably the toughest time of his life. We owe you xxxxxx
