Dear Mr. Vedder
My name is Dan Berthod. I have been a fan of Pearl Jam ever since I can remember. Your music has helped me and changed my life in such a positive way. My fiancé and I were supposed to get married April 25 of 2020 and then had to postpone it to October 3rd which also had to be canceled due to covid. The theme for our wedding is Pearl of the sea. It is a mixture of Pearl Jam and the little mermaid which my fiancé loves. We have a lot of personally made Pearl Jam and Little Mermaid decorations. The tables are named after songs and our wedding song is “Future Days.” We were able to go to two of Pearl Jam’s shows in 2016. We saw night one in philly and night two in Chicago. My fiancé’s farther saw Pearl Jam perform 22 years prior to this. It was a great way for my fiancé and her dad to bond. My fiancé and I love in Rochester New York and our wedding “when it finally happens” is going to be at the senica park zoo. We are both huge animal lovers so we thought that would be the perfect place to have the reception. We would like to invite you and your family to our wedding but we don’t know when it will happen. We are hoping in 2021 we will be able to get married. Your music has changed our lives in such a positive way that we thought it would be nice to invite you and your family. We would like to send a save the date and invitation but we don’t know what address to mail them to. If your interested in attending your mailing address would be greatly appreciated. We would never put your information out there for anyone to see. Thank you for your time and hopefully you receive
this letter.
Thank you
Dan Berthod

Dear Pearl Jam,
Hi my names Abby aggarwala and this is a thank you letter. My dad, Andrew aggarwala, was suddenly hit by a drunk driver and died on November 24 this year. I’m only 14. He was my everything and he was your biggest fan. We bonded over your music everyday. He talked about taking me t the next concert when you guys where around, but now I’ll never go one with him which sucks. But I just wanted to thank you for being one of the core memories I have with him. My personal favorite is better man because he used to sing that to me every night since I was 5. This isn’t the best letter and I apologize but yet again I am writing this in a breakdown. I miss him so much it’s the worst pain I have ever been in. He was my dad and still is. The point is we bonded over your music and I would just like to thank you. Thank you for being the band I could play and have him hum along with a smile on his face, thank you for being the band I could make stickers of and give to him for his work computer for his birthday, thank you for being the songs I listen when I want to remember. Remember the car rides blasting better man or black, or when he taught me how no one actually for sure knows the words of yellow ledbetter or what the meaning of the songs were or even that Sirens was a cover. All of these memories are brough into the light with your songs and I am forever grateful. Even if no one reads these letters or you never see them. Thank you. Thank you so much. He loved you and so do I. Pearl Jam Forever.

The words and thoughts are all in my head but i can't sort it out. It would take all the meanings and lyrics you have put into all of your songs.
So i just wanted to let you know if i could choose any person in the world to sit and talk, joke around with over a glass of wine, i would choose you. That's it in a nutshell. That is how much i think of you and your awesome talent.
Sincerely,

Dear Eddie, My childhood sweetheart Sean (now 59) is a HUGE fan. His wife suffers from early onset dementia. Sean needs a break from the hard work he does to support extraordinary medical needs and expenses and I know he would be THRILLED if he could meet you. Can we make it happen? Please know how much I would appreciate you extending an invitation. I've known Sean since he was in 5th grade (I'm now 60). I too love your music!

My dear Mister Vedder, My name is David Garver from Taos New Mexico. A couple of years ago my wife Aura and I made a drive to Phoenix in March to get away from the cold and get some sun and see some spring training baseball. I myself am I lifelong Cardinals fan. I was raised outside of Springfield, Illinois. In that part of the state you're either Cardinals or Cubs fan. I chose Cards because that was my little league team and my high school team was the Redbirds. But i always loved the Cubs. Going to Wrigley was transformative and its history and significance was palpable even as a kid. Anyway, on our trip we decided to splurge and stay at The Biltmore. The first day there I made my way to the Marilyn Monroe pool, wearing my St. Louis Cardinals hat, and sat in the warmth and relaxed. At some point a normal looking lad in a Cubs hat sat down at the end of the pool. There was a very fit and tanned fellow with him and I paid little notice. After awhile I realized it was you. I said to my wife, "hey that's Eddie Vedder." Now let me admit I was not a Pearl Jam fan. I thought TEN was impressive but never really sat with PJ's music. I thought about saying hello and talking baseball! but I didn't want to bother you. I went to your solo concert that night and was blown away. The next day we were at the same pool again. I had a hundred questions but didn't want to bother you. I called my nephew in Chicago, who is a boderline psychotic Pearl Jam fan. He's gone to 27 shows. I said, "hey, I sat poolside with your man Eddie Vedder in Phoenix." He lost his mind. I swear he was crying. On the eight hour drive home I llstened to Pearl Jam straight, starting with TEN. When I got home I watched the 20/20 documentary. I watched the show at Wrigley. I wept hearing and watching Release Me. For two straight fucking years now it's been Pearl Jam everyday. I'm fucking 63 years old and it took me all this time to discover Pearl Jam! I fucking missed the whole thing! I can't imagine life without Pearl Jam now! Is that just totally fucked up or what? I have a wife, two grown sons, a teenage daughter, two grandsons! I'm a grown man ED! I'm a cynical hardcore rocker who finds celebrity worship just silly..... Now I'm writing you a letter!
Looking back I would have just said thank you.
I myself am a musician. I've had bands for forty years. I'm in a band now called Bones of Romeo. We do classics.. Led Zep, Stones, Petty, Neil......Pearl Jam. We now do Black and Corduroy. [A few years back I did a New Years gig with Kevin Wood when he lived in Taos. Cool kid. Great guitarist. ] I also do solo acoustic shows. Your solo version of Girl From North Country is sublime. As songwriters we all go back to Bob, don't you think?
Gigaton is brilliant and prescient and so creative and new.
Thank you Ed. Pearl Jam is America's greatest and most important band. You are needed now more than ever.
Ed, I'm 63 and you guys gave me that kick I needed. Sorry it took me so long. Better late than never. To see you guys live is at the top of my list!
Hello Ed!
Thank You! Please tell Mike and Stone and Jeff and Matt hello and thank you. If you ever come to Taos look me up.
Most sincerely,
David Garver

I like to start off by saying thank you for the humbleness that you have shown the world that you are . And also by showing me the inspiration to be the best that I can be in everything I try to do in my life . Your music your attitude and your nature is something that I have always admired and aspired to . I am 47 years old and in your early music my mother did not like my choice in music but I finally got her to sit down and listen to your slower ballards like nothing man the first one she heard , Off he goes , Better man , Wish list , Just Breath to my mother being almost 80 loving your music just as much as me . Your voice touches my soul and after over twenty years of listening to your music My wife and I finally got to see Pearl Jam at the last Australian big day out on the Gold Coast and it was worth everything I had waited for . Thank you Eddie Vedder for the music you have created and also sung like Mother (my favourite) that song has a bond with me for personal reasons and you made it that much more personal. When I met my wife you were something that we both had in common and after nearly 19 years together very happily married your music is still very much a major part of our life . I don’t class myself as a very good singer but my vocal chords are always belting out your tunes . My daughter is amazing at the guitar and she loves playing better man . So three generations of my family all have been touched by the music you have given us. Thank you Eddie Vedder for my lifetime of everything that you are I am truly very grateful to have been able to grow up and older with every bit of humble person you are Thank You So So Much

Mr. Vedder,
I truly hope that you get to read this letter.
My name Kevin, I live in Lockport Illinois. I have been quite a fan of Pearl Jam from the beginning. The music has always brought out much happiness, you all have I gift for making music that has fit so well in every aspect of my life. Through all of the highs and lows the music has always and continues to be there.
Pearl Jam is hands down my favorite band on our ever forgiving planet. My 19 year old son is a big fan as well, I was going to take him to his 1st PJ concert this past April in St. Louis but it will have to wait. I was hoping as always to hear “inside job” live. That song has always had a connection with me, I really do admire the connection of the song with Steve Gleason. I admire all of you in Pearl Jam, please continue to make great music and I will always listen.
Best regards

Dear Eddie,
I’m just a 20 almost 21 year old music addict! I LOVE your music! I’m sure you get this ALL the time, but your music moves me man. It’s more than the pleasing of the ear, it’s the emotion and heart put in to the songs that make it more than music I can sit and listen to your music and just sit and stare and have all of these emotions shooting through me.

I just wanted you to know personally that you’ve helped me through SO much and you don’t even know me. I watch your mtv unplugged videos ALL THE TIME, of course along with layne Staley, Kurt, Scott, and Chris. Music is so important to me and I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the music you made and continue to make.

If I was to put together the worlds most powerful super band it would be you, Eddie Van Halen, Jon Bonham, Chris squire.

I turn 21 on May 27th the day after Stevie Nicks birthday lol.

Your music inspires me. I want to be a singer/songwriter my self. I’m having a really tough time finding band members though. My friends love music but not on the same level to create it.

I hope one day we cross paths but until then be good, stay safe, and god bless.

Hello Mr. Vedder , my name is John. I hope this letter finds its way to your eyes. I'm not writing for myself. My son and his girlfriend are huge fans. They have tickets to a upcoming show but as it turns out, she will not be able to attend, due to the fact that she has joined the army in hopes of being a combat medic and will be reporting for duty before the show. As a result they are going to get married before she goes. I was desperate to send her off with something to remember. The idea I had was a video send off from the band , if not then from you would be fantastic. Something I could surprise them with by playing at their wedding. I know being, not just a celebrity but a musical legend, you are bombarded by ridiculous requests from people all the time. I would do anything for these two and so I do not mind making my self look foolish, if for just a minute chance of making this come to pass. I pray you consider this but if not I certainly understand and would not hold any negative thoughts on it. Thank you and be blessed.
