Dear Chris,
I have been watching your set on the pyramid stage Glastonbury playing fix you an seeing Michael J Fox playing along made me cry, brought back happy an said memories. I meet my wife in 2000 I was 50 years old she was an independent social worker working very long hours helping children that had been sexually or physically abused. In 2010 she became ill and after many sleepless nights me sitting up with her as she screamed in pain with her right leg that was gangrenous and had to be amputated below the knee, she had to give up work an got into debt had to sell her house, we moved in to a rented property and was getting along ok until 2017 and she started having problems with the left leg the same thing was happening the doctor advised us to go to A&E straight away but we were getting married the next day Sep 23 2017 so we said would go next day after wedding, the wedding was a small affair an the song I chose to have played was Fix You as I had tried everything I could to fix her but couldn’t, we spent our wedding night in A&E not very romantic but we were together. After 3 weeks in hospital her left leg amputated below the knee, I was with her everyday when she was in hospital giving her support an still doing what I could to fix her. I gave up work when she got home to care for her, again few are doing ok my wife is permanently in a wheel chair an house bound most of the time but she has recently stated doing volunteer work sitting on fostering panel from home again helping children in need. Every time I hear Fix you I cry remembering our wedding day an the very long wedding night spent in A&E. thank you for the song Fix You an many other great songs from Coldplay. If you ever get to see this letter please remember my story next time you sing fix you, it means so much to me an my wife. On top of all my wife had gone through she had to try an support me as during 2010-2013 I was being treated for prostate cancer an all so had open heart surgery.
