I am a fellow Houstonian/New Yorker transplant. I am an actress here in New York, and am working on a project from a play called, "Ruined", by Lynn Nottage, a Brooklyn based playwright. This play deals with the atrocities of War Rape as conducted in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As a result, I have been inspired to do all that I can to stop this. You are a woman of immense influence, and I am reaching out to you to please help me bring awareness of this phenomenon, in order to construct a way that we can help these women and make a dramatic change for our world. This year, you were voted sexiest woman of the 21st century, imagine if that meant that made you all the more valuable for men to kidnap, mutilate, and alienate you & your infant daughter to prove their strength. I believe, that if we can raise awareness of this issue, then we can gather a mass so strong, that we can find a way to end it. It will take time, and a lot of people. But God has given you a gift which allows you to reach and touch millions upon millions of people. I'm working my ass of to do the same, and in doing so it is my hope to be able to attack issues such as these one by one, until we can look at our world, our human race, and be proud to know that our Goodness and capacity for Love is greater than any greed that has ever possessed this land. This is my first feeble and meager step, but it is my hope that it won't prove all for not. I have some ideas of first steps, and how to help those who are already working to address the immediate needs of the women who are the victims of these crimes, but that is only the first step. Please, let's talk. I'm not a fanatic, just a woman who wants to exact change where change is needed most. We have almost crossed paths many times over, I had a teacher who sponsored me to attend HSPVA (but due to family circumstance, I had to stay on the East side {NorthShore}, my fellow performers of the Lady Circus have performed for a private party of yours, and I was almost a stand-in for you......
This time, I want to connect and make something happen for the greater good.

I am one of your older fans. I am a 53 year old mom and son of two boys 18 and 14. I am truely blessed to have good children and i hope the same for your child and children to come.
My job as a mom has allways come first for my children. With doing that it, my dreams has been put on the back burner.
As a littler girl one of my dreams was to become a dancer. With life and things that have come my way it was never fullfilled.
